Enough is as good as a feast.*

Hunger has many forms. Kousaku thinks 'hunger' belongs to food only, he overlooks the hunger when Sister Angela is around, the constant need for her attention.
Ueda understands there's more than one sort of hunger – he wants to achieve his own glory and his own path. But there's also that dull ache in his chest - for Kousaku's attention. The hunger Kousaku won't acknowledge – Ueda feels it, lives it, takes his sustenance from a smile, a laugh, a pat on the shoulder, a declaration of friendship over gyoza. Morsels for a starving man, but they're just enough to keep Ueda from being famished.

„Dessert wine?“

„Hm.“ Issei is closer now, although Shizuku can't remember him moving.

„Do you feel it, Shizuku-kun? Sweet, soft, filling your senses?“ A hand on Shizuku's cheek, another on his shoulder, Issei's breath against his ear, „Good?“

They still for a moment. Shizuku exhales, „Yes.“

Issei's lips on his, sharing sweet fruits and rich chocolate.

I like Mavrodaphne, although I've never had the Reserve, apparently the Greek government takes it for special occasions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mavrodafni); a quick google look at prices say they're about 45-50 EUR per bottle for the Grand Reserve.

Being ordinary is hard work: speak to the right (boring) people, laugh at the right moment, play the dork. No one gives you credit for your acting talent, but then - you're just that *good* at being inconspicuous... But „ordinary“ is just a job. When you go out, with those that know better, when you chat up girls and they go for it... that's the other, the good life.

They don't speak often, but when they see each other at some bar or other, Ohkura and Maru lift their glasses with a smile: to the ordinary people with the secret lives.

A very even way, but no such friend.*

Maru hates being embarrassed, especially when it makes him look uncool. There was Kame's bungee jump and then Ueda's – both had „kakkoi“ written all over them. Times like these make Maru appreciate Taguchi more. Koki giggles, Kame and Ueda tease, Jin outright laughs and Taguchi remains silent. He cheers Maru on, sometimes he laughs too, but then he makes an awful pun and diverts all attention from Maru's embarrassment. If it comes down to it, Maru thinks Taguchi is kind of kakkoi while still being as uncool as Maru. And that is the reason why Maru likes him so much.

WOW.
I've been to an Eagles con today with dad (his b-day pressie from me). It was ... very, very loud, but incredibly good, too.

Those guys are all in their late 50s/early 60s and ... still they have an energy that's absolutely amazing. And their voices are marvellous. Strong and vibrant... it really was a pleasure.

The music was *very* loud at times and my ears hurt, but it was worth it. The guitar solos were fantastic. I didn't know 95% of the songs, although that didn't really matter. I liked some of their newer ballads and they made me *so* happy by ending their encore with "Desperado". I think it was a Watari fanfic where I first heard of that song and I've loved it since. To hear it live... gosh, absolutely star struck. So good. Perfect. Wow.

I also loved hearing "Hotel California" and "Take it Easy". Unfortunately they didn't do "Tequila Sunrise" or "New Kid in Town" - but still, it was really enjoyable. Dad was thrilled, he's totally into the electric/bass/whatever guitar thing :) And it's his generation, so he had heard most of the songs before (apart from their very new ones).

I'm not at the point where I'll buy a CD, but I might download some songs from itunes. "No More Walks in the Wood" (a capella - brilliant) and "Waiting in the Weeds" were really, really good.

... and the best thing is that I now have time off till Monday :) *yay* (tomorrow is a national holiday and Friday is my short-work day off).

Saw this on threewalls' journal and thought I could try it :)

As I understand, goes something like this: list your top ten I-would-go-down-with-this-ship pairings, that you don't ever want to see broken up. Feel free to interpret the rules loosely. 10 pairings that fit those criteria is surprisingly hard to choose.

In alphabetical (fandom) order:
1) CATS: Quaxo + Electra
2) Harry Potter: Ron + Hermione
3) Harry Potter: Severus + Remus
4) Jane Austen: Lizzy + Darcy
5) Kyou Kara Maou: Conrad + Yozak
6) Nobuta wo Produce: Shuji + Akira

I won't give any rps pairings, which I have in my current fandom (and did in LotR, too). Since it's rps it's not true anyway, so "never want to see broken up" is a very... unsuitable condition ;)

My thoughts:
I'm surprised there are so many het pairings ;) I could've even added Han + Leia from SW, too, although they are so typical of the "old, happily married couple" thing which I'm having trouble believing in at the moment, so...

I've not read or written fanfic for 4 + 8, but those are the pairings that strike me as equal - there are sparks of passion and wit in their interaction and they *shine* Actually, to be honest, I don't even want to read fanfic for these pairings, because they're so readily and perfectly *present* on the page already :)

For the rest, I've written something for each of them. I don't think I ever did a stand-alone Ron/Hermione and I only dabbled slightly in Severus/Remus, but other than that... well ;) 3 + 5 + 9 + 10 to a certain extent are pairings that are complicated and where the characters need to work on their relationship and on themselves.

1 + 6 are my "happy pairings" - they face obstacles, but they can, in my mind's eye, easily overcome them together. Cue the hearts and flowers from above ;)

I guess each of these OTPs had a specific time in my life where it was at the forefront, at the moment I'm most with 4, 8 and 6 (the former two for content, the latter because it's in my current fandom and because I *heart* it despite the fact that there's so little fic).

In fact, apart from 2, 3 and 9 these are all somewhat rare pairs in their respective fandoms. Which might have been the reason I wrote fic for them in the first place ;)

I had my first lesson today.
We learned how to introduce ourselves (and found out that there are mostly OLs in our course ;D) and we wrote some hiragana.

I'm not sure I'll remember (ever) remember the hiragana, but it was lots of fun :)

It's really, really nice to be doing this. I'm glad I started it. It's totally different to any language I've ever learned and I think it will be a challenge.

(Also I'm really, really proud of myself: we listened to dialogues of people introducing themselves and I understood them. And I was one of the best in the quiz about Japan, too ;D)

Notes: I saw episode 3 (unsubbed) today and felt I needed to write this; because Maru is awesome and his performance has touched me. Title, lyrics and the section headings are from KAT-TUN’s “One Drop” single. The five words are said by Ueda (love), Junno (dreamin’), Koki (eternity), Maru (hope), Kame (‘and... bye-bye’) at the beginning of the PV. Maru’s ‘hope’ is amazing. Without it, I probably wouldn’t have made the connection and then written this. But, as I said above, Maru is awesome and will make me do things like writing even when I thought I was incapable of every doing so again :)

(It's 12:15am and I've seen fireworks! Yes, this is an unusual occurrence as I've not seen fireworks from my balcony before. *happy dance*)

A friend of mine happens to like turtles and since her bday was coming up, I was inspired to create a "turtle muffin" ;)

I was very pleased with the end result :) I still need to work on drawing turtles though ;) But, it tasted very good (poor turtle didn't last long ;D).

Reason: there was a side note in a mag I happened upon today, mentioning that the Globe Theatre Tour will have one performance in Austria, at the amphitheatre at Carnuntum.

Then, I rushed online, found out all the info I could, made a few frantic phone calls of "Omg, they're here, like, in Austria, and soon, and I'm going and you? And..."

I got A., Mum, and her new bf (who has a car and will drive us) to come with me. And just now I reserved tickets and will get the confirmation by post (please, everyone, help me by keeping your fingers crossed that our lovely postal system manages to get this to me next week) and ... I'm going. And ... it's on July 5th. And... did I mention I'm ridiculously happy, because I even took a few days off from 7-9 July and ... this is BEYOND BRILLIANT. And I could hug ... everyone.

Also, I very much want a bright, shiny icon to memorize the fact that Shakespeare still has the power to make me so happy I act like a three-year-old. I'd thought I'd lost that. *SQUEAL* But it's still there, I'm still a Globemaniac, I'm still ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *RANDOM BOUNCING*

I made a wallpaper, which I hope you like. I thought of it the moment I saw the picture on the right, which my friend found on a Taiwanese forum. It's just ... *HOT* :)

I flail at the gorgeousness and shininess that is the KAT-TUN II You concert DVD. It's amazing. It's full of *sparkle* and *Maru* (and there are CLOSE UPS! So many close-ups! I must screencap!!!!). I adore the guy. I wish I could wrap him up and take him home sometimes. I might be too old to fangirl (but I'm still not thirty, so I may :D), but I don't care. As long as they brighten up my day and as long as I like their music, it's good :) And today, I found a new performance, by just Maru and Ueda, of "Your Side". I did like the song to begin with - with the two of them singing it alone it's *hearts*. I love this version to bits. It's wonderful, the way their voices blend, the harmony just ... *beams*
